Opinión | It: Chapther 2

Cuando una película de terror quiere crear este sentimiento en el espectador utiliza dos formas distintas de llegar a ese punto, la tensión generada por la situación y la capacidad de generar empatía con los personajes que se encuentran en peligro. Mi nombre es Anyandri y aunque dicen que las segundas partes siempre son malas, el día de hoy todos vamos a flotar.

Cuando la adaptación de IT: Capitulo Uno, de Andrés Muschietti fue anunciada, me pareció muy extraña la decisión del director de adaptar estas nuevas películas de forma cronológica, porque la novela (Y en consecuencia la miniserie de 1990) NO SIGUEN una trama lineal, los eventos son narrados a través de flash backs donde los protagonistas se remontan a su infancia en Derri y rememoran hechos que ellos creían olvidados, a la par que todos ya como adultos vuelven a reunirse para respetar la promesa de regresar, si es que IT seguía vivo.

Muschietti, nos entrega una excelente primera parte de la adaptación de la obra del maestro King al darnos un cast excelente, con una química entre los niños que se sentía natural, lo conmovedor de su pasado justifica perfectamente los lazos que se generan entre ellos, haciendo que nos preocupemos genuinamente por “Los Perdedores” que están siendo acosados por la entidad conocida como IT o Pennywise.

Esta primera parte dejó muy arriba el listón para su secuela, que ahora va a centrarse en Los Perdedores como adultos, que regresan 30 años más tarde para ponerle (definitivamente) fin a ESO. Lamentablemente, me parece que esta segunda entrega, está pagando la cuenta que quedó pendiente con la decisión de contar la historia cronológicamente y el director notó que sin el cast infantil se perdía mucho de la esencia de la historia, que consiste precisamente en esta entidad acosando y alimentándose de estos miedos infantiles. Y es que, es muy difícil justificar que alguien de cuarentaitantos, le siga teniendo miedo a los payasos.

Así que, tenemos a los niños de regreso ¡En forma de flashbacks! ¡Como en la miniserie de 1990 y en el libro! Lo que me hizo sentir en muchas partes que el film se estaba volviendo repetitivo, los niños le restan espacio y tiempo en pantalla a los personajes adultos, para por ejemplo: conocer como es la vida del club de los perdedores hoy en día y en qué consisten sus debilidades y miedos actuales. Por otro lado, si hay algo que tenemos que seguir aplaudiendo es la excelente actuación de Bill Skarsgård como Pennywise y el diseño de los “monstruos” que le dan un nuevo significado a la palabra PERTURBADOR (y no, no lo digo a la ligera).

La que sí se toma a la ligera en muchas ocasiones es la película, que rompe la tensión con bromas muchas veces innecesarias, se lo reprocharía más, pero se las perdono todas porque me entrega un cameo tan legendario que me parece se encuentra a la altura de los que nos regalaba Stand Lee. Esta es otra cosa que disfruté enormemente dentro del film, nos entrega muchísimas referencias y easter eggs para aquellos que leyeron el libro o pequeños homenajes a otras películas de Stephen King, así como resaltar el hecho de que el personaje de Billy es una referencia directa a él con la broma recurrente de que no sabe cómo terminar sus historias, cual Pilatos el director se lava las manos para decirnos: ¡Oigan, que se hizo lo mejor que pudimos con el final que tenemos escrito!

Y es que sí, la película hace lo mejor que puede y toma libertades creativas que aplaudo aunque haya quedado un poquito distanciada del final que ya conocíamos.

Si viste la primera parte y la disfrutaste, la secuela es imperdible, los personajes siguen logrando que nos preocupemos genuinamente con y por ellos, además de tener montón de jumpscreams (bien utilizados) que sí te quitaran el hipo.

¡Vayan a verla y compren muchas palomitas! (porque dura tres horas) mi nombre es Anyandri, nos vemos para la próxima.
